House Churches?
Rather than everyone gathering every Sunday in one building, we meet in small groups in different homes.
What is a house church?
A small relational gathering where we pray, worship, learn from the scripture, and receive communion together. Our primary weekly church services happen in these small groups.
Why do you meet in house churches?
We want to build a church community where no one is invisible and everyone has an opportunity to use their gifts and resources in the ministry of the church. We have found that being one church, spread across multiple smaller house churches, allows us to accomplish this, while still being part of a larger community.
Do the house churches ever get together?
Yes. On the first Sunday of every month, all the house churches gather in one location to enjoy our weekly church gathering together. The location varies throughout the year, but the details are provided on our church calendar.
What about children and youth?
We try to find a good balance between encouraging "family style" church - where everyone is learning together - and having time with all age groups can learn in a setting that is tailored to their age - adults included. The way this is accomplished varies a bit by house church, so ask about it when planning a visit.
